Our Commitment Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. believes in conducting its business activities in a manner that respects the fundamental human rights and dignity of all individuals. The company is guided by internationally recognized principles enshrined in the International Bill of Human Rights, the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. This Human Rights Policy applies to Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d., and the company encourages its business partners, suppliers, and subcontractors to adopt and nurture similar policies within their own activities.

Responsibility and Remediation Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. fulfills its responsibility to respect human rights by identifying any impacts on these rights caused by or directly contributed to by the company and providing remediation through legitimate processes.

Anti-Discrimination and Harassment The company has zero tolerance for any form of harassment or discrimination, whether based on race, sex, religion, nationality, social status, color, age, disability, political opinion, or any other basis. This applies not only within the workplace but also in all business relations. Qualifications, skills, knowledge, and experience are the sole criteria for employment or any other form of hiring.

Freedom of Association Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. respects the freedom of association. Every employee has the right to join a labor union and shall not be discriminated against, intimidated, or harassed for doing so. The company is committed to cooperating in good faith and constructively with legally recognized trade unions and works councils.

Health and Safety The company ensures that all workplace conditions meet relevant health and safety regulations to minimize the risk of injury and illness. Professional health and safety training is provided to every employee, tailored to their specific workplace requirements.

Labor Rights The company complies with all applicable provisions regarding labor rights, including working hours, wages, overtime, and vacation. Employees are informed of their rights and obligations through employment contracts, internal rulebooks, notice boards, and management.

Forced Labor and Child Protection All forms of forced labor and human trafficking are strictly prohibited by company policy. Individuals under the age of 18 (minors) may not be employed in positions that could threaten their safety, health, morals, or development.

The company respects and protects children’s rights against all forms of abuse, particularly sexual abuse. All employees, as well as business associates (guests, suppliers, subcontractors, etc.), are instructed to immediately report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior.

ENVIRONMENTAL MISSION STATEMENT

Sustainability Commitment Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. places high value on operating with a high degree of ethical, social, and environmental responsibility. To this end, we joined the Travelife association—an initiative for sustainable tourism—in 2013.

To achieve long-term sustainability, we commit to the following objectives:

  • Education: Ensuring ongoing training for our staff so they are fully aware of our sustainability policy and committed to its implementation and improvement.

  • Guest Awareness: Educating our guests to encourage sustainable practices and raise environmental awareness.

  • Monitoring: Establishing action plans for sustainability with a regular and consistent monitoring system.

  • Integration: Incorporating sustainability practices into all operations and business decisions.

  • Suppliers: Informing all suppliers of our Environmental Policies and monitoring their performance to ensure their goods and services meet our environmental criteria.

  • Awards: As a member of Travelife, we are committed to achieving and maintaining the Travelife Gold award standards.

ENERGY SAVING INITIATIVES
  • Ensuring that all purchased heavy and light equipment is rated as energy-efficient (Grade A), both now and in the future.

  • Increasing energy efficiency through cooperation with the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, specifically regarding building facades.

  • Retrofitting lighting systems with LED and CFL fluorescent tubes.

  • Continuing the installation of solar panels throughout our resort.

  • Ensuring all staff and guests receive appropriate training in energy conservation.

WATER SAVING INITIATIVES
  • Irrigating gardens using treated wastewater from the pools.

  • Reducing water consumption to sustainable levels through the use of automatic pressure regulators and aerator faucets (enriching water with air).

  • Equipping accommodation taps and showers with automatic water flow restrictors for improved regulation.

WASTE MANAGEMENT
  • Minimizing the use of paper and plastic by both staff and guests.

  • Continuing efforts in the recycling and reuse of paper.

  • Purchasing packaged products in bulk whenever possible and working with suppliers to reduce packaging and transportation requirements.

NATURE PRESERVATION
  • Prioritizing the purchase of greenery and plants native to our island, such as olive trees, to preserve the natural habitat.

  • Protecting the marine environment; notably, in 2015, our beaches were awarded the White Flag certification.

Local Support: Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. believes in supporting sustainable business endeavors within the local community. We are committed to supporting a wide range of local initiatives and events that provide social and environmental benefits. We have a long tradition of supporting local people through employment, promoting local products in our shops, and hosting exhibitions for local artists.

EMPLOYMENT & EMPLOYEES

Working conditions are a priority for Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. We ensure a positive working atmosphere, consistent communication, and, above all, workplace safety in accordance with the law.

When hiring, Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. gives preference to local residents. This increases the likelihood of capital remaining within the community and discourages residents from leaving the island in search of work. Additionally, we collaborate with schools to provide vocational training opportunities for students within our hotels.

PURCHASING

Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. purchases and promotes products from the local area. By buying seasonal fruit from local producers and promoting their goods in our souvenir shops, we actively participate in the development of local businesses.

SUPPORT AND DONATIONS

Svpetrvs Hoteli d.d. provides local residents with free access to our beach and spa facilities. Furthermore, we are currently heading a project to build a football playground for a local club, supported by our own donations and external contributions.
